 The Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) (www.sra.org) invites your abstracts for presentations at the Fifth SRA World Congress on Risk in Cape Town, South Africa,Monday, 6 May 2019 to Wednesday, 8 May 2019.

Contributions are invited on any topic related to risk assessment, risk characterization, risk perception, risk communication, risk management, risk governance, and policy relating to risk, in the context of risks of concern to individuals, to public and private sector organizations, and to society at local, regional, national, and global scales.

The 2019 theme “Development and Resilience” continues the tradition of distinguishing the SRA and the World Congresses on Risk for their global leading transformative roles in science and policy.

The participants are scientists and practitioners from a variety of disciplines and around the world. They are employed by government, industry, consulting firms, NGOs, military, and academic institutions, or are self employed. They innovate and invent solutions through wide-ranging academic and practical knowledge and experiences, they form collaborations across theory and practice, and they join at these Congresses and other SRA meetings to expand risk frontiers. The participants seek one another because they face problems requiring interdisciplinary perspectives and competence. Together they grow insight and capabilities for world societal challenges, including health, safety, environment, engineering and infrastructure, enterprise, emerging technologies, regulation, communication, security, policy, finance, and many others.
