On behalf of the International Population Data Linkage Network’s (IPDLN) International Scientific Committee, we invite you to participate in the 2018 IPDLN Conference on 12-14 September, 2018, at the Banff Centre, located in beautiful Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

With our theme, Linking Data – Improving Lives, we have created a forum for the presentation and discussion of research and innovation in the area of Linked Population Data Science and Policy Impact.

We welcome the submission of abstracts for oral, poster, rapid fire and creative presentations. All abstracts presented will be posted on the IPDLN website, and published in the International Journal of Population Data Science (IJPDS).

Submissions are invited for presentations at the 2018 International Population Data Linkage Network Conference which address the conference theme Linking Data – Improving Lives and one of the following conference sub-themes:

Analytical approaches to distributed data: overcoming the challenges of reproducibility and replication for findings verification and big ‘n’ studies, when local data is just not enough
Data and linkage quality: measurement, reporting, improvement, and managing bias; data interoperability, standards, etc.
Advanced analytics: computational and statistical approaches to deal with large scale, complex and messy data; data visualization
Privacy, regulation and governance: how to make progress in and between regulatory and legal environments; confidentiality and data security; ethical issues
Applied projects: work that has contributed new knowledge to health or social science, using data linkage or data sciences approaches with a focus on innovative approaches to knowledge exchange and translation
Linking to emerging data types: linking data to genetic and omic data, population-scaled sensor data, imaging, social media
Public engagement: working towards public understanding and assent; patient/citizen scientists; policies and guidelines
Capacity building: projects focused on delivering new multidisciplinary skills and understanding in the field
Delivering and measuring impact: approaches to demonstrating impact of an individual work/study, or case studies of how health/social/economic impact of a specific work/study was demonstrated
Social determinants of health and cross-sectoral data inkage: overcoming challenges and sensitives of cross-sectoral data linkage, may include  longitudinal perspectives and data on the social determinants of health and the environment
